MY NEW CRUSH

I had to prepare for my segment on the Soul Sunday show, while at it, I stumbled on two new videos; these Videos caught and held my attention for different reasons.  Now, I get high on different things depending on what is happening to me or around me at the time

For the first video, it was the SWAG that shot me right through the roof, the original video has its fair share of swag though, but this version blew me off and I felt REALLY PROUD OF GOD!  I’ll explain the reason behind this statement later.

Am talking about the Korede Cover done by A’ dam.  Of course I had listened to and watched the Music Video for the Song originally done by Mike Abdul; I’ll say that the song has a natural calm feel to it with every word of the Lyrics oozing Gratitude.

It’s actually my first ever A’dam ‘encounter’, yes, I have seen him in a couple of the Spaghetti teams’ videos, I had even heard him sing or drop a rap line but he just did not catch my attention. But this time, Adam steps forward to tell his own story in Yoruba with a dash of English here and there in the Hip Hop version of the song.

He embed his signature all over that in my opinion Mike Abdul is lucky to have sang the song first, his mannerisms - him backing the camera to deliver some of the rap lines for instance – his delivery is sooo apt for the mood and new expression of the song. And! Was that A’dam Spinning like that on the hoover board OMG! That’s some trained moves right there.

 VIDEO: A'dam's Korede Cover

It didn’t look like an expensive Video to me but it doesn’t feel cheap  either, the hoover board, the hoodie, the drumstick- that was quite a chunk, and the ‘dabs’, am beginning to wonder what’s with the Spaghetti team and ‘dabbing’, it’s like the job is never complete without a dab… anyways.
…‘Now ma life is a party, wish me Happy Birthday!’
That’s my favorite punch line…I gat swag right? I know right…lol!
And of course A’dam also displays the fast becoming famous ‘Korede painting’ that has appeared in the other 2 ‘Korede’ videos so far, here’s my advice to whoever is planning to do another ‘Korede’ Cover - be ready to either match up to this or raise the bar higher.
For the records, this is not a Gospel Music Video review this is me crushing on a Gospel music video…AND! WATCH OUT for my Story about the second Video.

NB:
AND…To explain my earlier expression, being a Teens teacher, i know very well that an average teenager in Church wants to be expressive without feeling guilty or criticized, “why should I be bored and boring at the same time ‘cos I have to, ‘remember now my creator in the days of my youth’, why do the non-religious guys have to have all the fun always, they can sway and swag, they can sing, dance to any music and be cool like that”.
Guess what? They are not alone in this struggle for musical expression. For the traditional Christians it’s really tough to watch well-crafted Circular music videos without feeling guilty, but the truth is, some of these Videos are appealing to the eyes, spiced with beautiful dance moves and the several other pluses.
Although, the Church mean well, we need healthy alternatives that will fill the void, so it’s almost natural to think that with Gospel music expressions like this, the church can Now have fun without feeling guilty and that’s why I said that am REALLY PROUD OF GOD! HIS creativity is Infinite and HE cares about our every need including our Musical need that he deposited and inspired Gospel artistes like A’dam to do stuff like this.
